Abstract (EN)

In order to determine the ampelographic characteristics of grape varieties grown in Çatak (Van) province and reveal problems of province's viticulture and suggest solutions, this research has been carried out during 2017 and 2018. The study was performed on 12 local varieties of grapes grown in producer vineyards. Ampelographic characteristics of varieties were identified according to "Grape Descriptors" of IBPGR (International Board for Plant Genetic Resources). In the end of the research, it has been identified that 12 grape varieties grown in Çatak (Van) province belong to species of Vitis vinifera L.,berry skin colour was identified as 'green yellow' in 5 varieties, 'black-violet' in 4 varieties and 'red' in 3 variety. The varieties had averagely 171.01±53.65-439.19±224.45 cm² bunch size, 141.67-518.62g bunch weight, 3.18-7.86 kg yield per vine, 10.95-16.7% soluble solids content acidity. It has been observed that time of berry ripening was 'late season' in 12 varieties.
