Research of the effect of ?conflict resoulation education? programme on the parents of violence-oriented students whose conflict resoulation skills

Within this research, the effect of Conflict Resolution Education on tendency to conflict, anger management grade and qualitative of relationship in family which the parents of violence-oriented students has been examined.Research has been carried out on one high school which is affiliated to the National Ministry of Education during the 2007-2008 education period. Pre-test, post-test, and semi experimental design with the control group have been used within the research. In the scope of the research, Conflict Resolution Education training has been provided to the parents of the experiment group for 10 weeks. The control group has not been provided with any training.The aim of this research is to test whether the Conflict Resolution Education programme has effect on the conflict resolution and awareness providing skills in parents of violence-oriented students. For this reason, the independent variable of the research is the Conflict Resolution Education programme which was applied to the experiment group, and the dependent variables are tendency to conflict, anger management grade and qualitative of relationship skills.Before and after Conflict Resolution Education programme, the Tendency of Conflict Scale, Trait Anger Expression Inventory, Family Assesment Measure have been applied to the experiment and control groups. In order to test whether there is a difference between scales results of the experiment and control group, two independent samplings, t test and ANOVA, have been used in order to measure if there is any significant difference between the experiment and control groups.According to the results of the statistical analyses, the experiment group?s tendency to conflict was less than the control group. Depending on the family assessment measurement, problem solving, communication, providing emotional reaction, indicating care needed, control of behaviour, and general function, positive benefit developed from the experiment group. In addition to this, an increase in the level of anger management can be observed.
