Abstract (EN)
The main topic of this thesis is to analyze the basic sociological ideas of Cavit Orhan Tütengil, who has an important identity in Turkish sociology and is known for his thoughts on underdevelopment. Tütengil is a valuable sociologist who has focused on the social problems of Turkish society and has pondered on these problems and tried to solve the problems. In addition to industrialization, the idea of Westernization was the basis of Tütengil's ideas. In the process of industrialization and westernization, Tütengil identified the social problems of our country and focused on the causes and consequences of these problems. Tütengil showed a national attitude in his sociological analyzes. Tütengil emphasized that the problems of Turkish society are different from Western societies and therefore problems cannot be solved from the Western understanding. In the light of these data, Tütengil's sociological ideas were tried to be explained. In our thesis, firstly, Tütengil's life, his works and the people he was influenced. Secondly, Tütengil's approach to method was discussed and his views on the methodology of Social Sciences were taken into consideration. Tütengil has taken a holistic approach. In our thesis, third, Tütengil's view on rural and rural issues, definition of rural and rural concepts, differences between rural and urban areas, rural problems, migration from rural to urban, social change and Turkey's views on rural structure were examined. Tütengil, Turkey's development problems, rural/urban separation, migration, such as the problems related to social structure has done research. Tütengil acted from the industrialization and Westernization process while conducting his research. Fourth, in our thesis, Tütengil's views on low development have been examined. He has put forward important ideas for the less developed countries he calls the "third world". Fifth, in our thesis, Tütengil's views on Atatürkism were taken into consideration. Tütengil emphasized that the first condition for keeping Atatürk's ideas alive was to complete the system of understanding and thinking. Based on this framework, he expressed his views. In our thesis, in the context of Tütengil's thoughts on education, the problems of education and university, the Kemalist principles of education, the role of teacher in education and its problems, village Institutes, The opinions of intellectuals and youth on the problems of Education in the village are evaluated in general. Finally, Tütengil's analysis of journalism, one of the means of mass communication, has revealed the basic views of the recent situation and problems of journalism in Turkey, especially in Turkish journalism outside Turkey.
