The Current Problems of Jazz Music: The Present Outlook ofThe Conditions of Production of Jazz Music.The topic of this research is the current outlook of the conditions ofproduction of jazz music, which is ascertained to have straits in consumption. Sinceit is not possible to cover all aspects of jazz music that followed different paths ofdevelopmet in different parts of the world throughout the history, the topic of theresearch is restricted to the birth place of this music, USA. Furthermore, certainphases of the history of jazz music, which are especially significant for the purposesof the research were selected for detailed analysis; because the whole evolution ofthis music would be impossible to analyse in the scope of this study. Afterdiscussing all periods in the history of jazz, certain pieces from the selected periods,namely Swing, Be-Bop, Avant-Garde and Fusion were analysed according to theirforms, harmonic structures and melodic approaches with a comparative method.The study showed that the current status of jazz could be viewed not as a kindof popular music but a kind of art music, and the straits in consumption observedafter 1980?s are effective also in the production of this music.Keywords: Jazz, jazz history, jazz periods, jazz musicians, Ragtime, Blues, Swing,New Orleans, Chicago, Dixieland, Avant-Garde, Fusion, Be-Bop.
