Abstract (EN)
In our thesis, we focused on the theater works of Hamza Hekimzade Niyazi, one of the important figures of Uzbek literature. In this context, 13 of Niyazi's theater works have been translated from Uzbek Turkish into Turkish by us. Afterwards, these transferred theater works were examined in terms of their textual context. Hamza Hekimzade Niyazi is one of the writers of the Cedid period of Uzbek literature. Therefore, the influence of modernization is deeply visible in his works. Niyazi drew attention to social disinformation, women's rights, class differences, and religious bigotry in the period he lived in and tried to contribute to the enlightenment of society with the theater works he wrote. Niyazi, like other Jadidists, saw theater as a means for the progress of society. Religious bigotry has an important place in Niyazi's works. According to Niyazi, one of the biggest obstacles to enlightening society is bigotry. Niyazi included this phenomenon in almost all his works. The characters in theater plays are generally those of clergy who are disturbed by women's rights, girls' education and the enlightenment of the society, and who impose the traditional life as an order of religion; It consists of people who see the corruption in society and the breakdown of family unity as a privilege. Niyazi puts forward a sociology of society through these types and makes symbolic references through bad characters and the textual context.
