In this study, was investigated Ramor 500 armor steels can be weldability with MIG welding method. 307 Si MIG welding wire was used as a weld metal which proposed for welding of armor steels. MIG welding wires are known as electrode due to their functions. Therefore in this study was mention expression of the electrode instead of welding wire.In experimental studies was examined the effect of shielding gas and welding groove type to microstructure and mechanical properties. Thus welding grooves was performed Y, X and y types by milling method. As shielding gas were selected argon + 5 % CO2, argon + 10 % CO2 and argon + 15 % CO2 including three different conditions. As result were identify effect of desing of mechanical and metallurgical to welding strenght for weld joints of armor steels.The microstructures of the weld regions were examined by optical microscopy, SEM and EDS. In order to determine the effect of different welding parameters on the mechanical properties of the weld seam, microhardness tests, Charpy impact tests and three point bending tests were conducted. The aim of this study, the results obtained contribute to the defense industry and to scientific knowledge.Key Words: Armor steel, Metal Inert Gas welding, Welding Groove, shielding gas.
