Abstract (EN)
Second New Movement in poetry is accepted as a turning point for Turkish poetry. At that turning point, structure of the poetic language has also changed in addition to the changing poetic understanding. Style, imagination and semantic depth in language have been given prominence; content, semantic superficiality and making use of reason in poetry have been pushed into background. This innovation in poetic language has been realized through the deviations in language. In this study, linguistic deviations have been analyzed in Cemal Süreya's poems as his poems involve deviations that are different from each other and are used in a distinctive way. Linguistic deviations found in Cemal Süreya's poems have been classified by taking the deviations in his poems as a basis. Deviations are categorised in terms of semantic deviations, lexical deviations, stylistic deviations, grammatical deviations, partial deviations, historical period deviations. Those related to grammatical are also divided into phonological, syntactic deviations and orthographical deviations. Phonological deviations are composed of two types: phonemic and utterance deviations. Orthographical deviations have eight different sub-categories: poetic lines beginning with small letters instead of capitals; proper names whose initials are also given in small letters; common names written with capital letters; compound words written separately; combining two words normally written separately; deviations in suffixes, adjectives and morphemes; making changes in words; and deviations in punctuation. This thesis consists of five parts as theoretical bases, poetry and poetic language, Cemal Süreya's life and his literary personality, Cemal Süreya's poetry and his poetic language, deviations in Cemal Süreya's poetic language. Linguistic deviations found in Cemal Süreya's poems have been given as an attachment to the thesis. In this study, the effects of the deviations used in Süreya's poems on his poems and what kind of a basis for the discourses in these poems have been prepared through the deviations have been analysed.
