Cengiz Çekil his life and art

By revealing the various aspects of Cengiz CEKIL?s attitudes (his diverse usage of artistic production methods, his way of questioning art, his attributes about artistic research) through an evaluation of his practices of exhibition display, the purpose of this study is to demonstrate his manners by which offering specific opportunities with regard to the language of the plastic arts, as to be considered as a research and practice method in art. In this way firstly Cekil?s life and art experience which indicates his comprehension about art and intends to points out the determinant formation of his attitudes towards the exhibition display practices, was examined in general. In the light of this review a visual analysis and an evaluation exposing the core components of the logic of his artistic production by means of some of his sculptural installations which located in the retrospective exhibition named `Cengiz CEKIL? (2010) has been carried out. Finally, within the framework of these evaluations Cekil?s unique aspects about his artistic style and his practices of exhibition display were detected and the ways in which the questioning of his artistic production methods allow of was pointed out.
