Özet (EN)

Aim: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of facilitated tucking and white noise on cerebral oxygenation and comfort with nasal CPAP. Material and Method: The study population consisted of neonates on nasal CPAP in the NICU of Fırta University Research Hospital. The sample of the study consists of 111 newborns in the facilitated tucking (n₌37), white noise (n₌37), and control (n₌37) groups receiving nasal CPAP support in the NICUs. The study was conducted as a randomized controlled trial between February 16, 2023 and May 25, 2024. The effects of facilitated tucking and white noise applications on cerebral oxygenation and comfort parameters were evaluated in neonates in the experimental group. The neonates in the control group received no treatment other than routine clinic practices. Neonatal cerebral oxygenation parameters were recorded with a NIRS device for 9 hours. Data were collected using the Newborn Introductory Information Form, the NIRS Tracking Chart, and the Comfortneo Scale. Results: The mean cerebral oxygenation of neonates in the facilitated tucking and white noise groups increased during the intervention compared to the control group (p<0.05). Neonatal comfort was found to increase in the fetal position and white noise groups (p<0.05). Conclusion: Facilitated tucking and white noise were found to increase mean cerebral oxygenation in neonates on nasal CPAP and to increase neonatal comfort by decreasing mean scores on the Comfortneo scale. Key Words: White noise, CPAP, facilitated tucking, cerebra oxygenation, newborn
