Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted in ecological condition of Çankırı Province and Kızılırmak District, in vegetation period of year 2015. The aim of study is determine of yield and agronomic performances of candidate hybrid corns (12 candidate and 4 control cultivar), which is supplied from Black Sea Agrıcultural Research Institute. The experiments were established in a randomized complete block design with three replications. The experimental plots included 4 rows, each 5 meters long with spacing 0.7 m between rows and 0.2 m within rows. Planting was made in the beginning of May, applied cultivating and fertilization practices for maize growing. Data on days to germination, days to tasseling, height of plant and first ear height, grain moisture rate (content) in harvest, percentage of grain/ear (cob), days to maturating, grain yield, number of rows on the cob and 1000 grain weight were measured for genotypes. Differences of location were statically statistically significant (p<0.01) for all traits except first ear height, 1000 grain weight and number of row on cob. Based on combined statistical analysis, differences of genotypes were statistically significant (p<0.01) for all traits except days to flowering time. Materials are flowered between 72-79 days and are maturated between 129-137 days. Plant height and first ear height of genotypes were changed respectively between 253-298 cm and 96-125 cm. 1000 grain weight, grain/ear rate and grain moisture at harvest of genotypes were changed respectively between 258-371 g, 79.4-86.6 and 21.5-26.4%. Grain yield were changed between 934-1148 kg da-1 in Çankırı, 806-1351 kg da-1 in Kızılırmak. Based on combined statistical analysis, grain yield was changed between 856-1229 kg da-1. Standard (control) cultivars were more yielded than new hybrids. It is understood that hybrid maize cultivating can be made in Çankırı and Kızılırmak condition.
