Özet (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to perform DNA fingerprinting analysis with Diversilab rep-PCR (Biomerieux, France) method and in this context the determination of proximity and epidemiological characteristics between Klebsiella pneumoniae strains obtained from variaus clinical samples in Gaziantep University Medical Faculty Sahinbey Hospital. As a result of the clonal relationship analysis with rep-PCR method, a total of 36 different clones was determined and 2 of them were main clones [A (7 isolates), B (5 isolates)]. It was found that 7 of the 49 Klebsiella strains (14%) were clustered in A clone, 5 were (10%) clustered in B clone. While C, D and E clones clustered in the form of two strains, 63% of the samples showed a single distributed clustering. A clone composed of the samples sent from pediatric units and 83% (5/6) of pediatric intensive care unites samples clustered in A clone. B clone consisted of strains isolated from adult patients; 3 from internal medicine, and one strain from each of general surgery and gastroenterology units. As a result, epidemiological distribution of Klebsiella strains belongs to our hospital was evaluated in this study. It was found that 63% of the strains have no clonal relationship that this show that Klebsiella epidemy is not common in our hospital. Keywords: Klebsiella, Genotyping, rep-PCR
