Özet (EN)

The purpose of this study is to investigate " The effect of Pyschological Group Counseling on reducing the work stress and depression level of police officers working in Nimble Force". The study carried out with police officers working in Department of Nimble Force in Security Directorate of Ankara. In the study experimental model is used. In this study Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), developed by A. Beck and adapted into Turkish by N. Şahin and Job Stress Level Inventory(JSLI), developed by S. Haynes and adapted into Turkish by Aktaş(1996) are used as data collection instruments. A ten week pyschological group counseling application done with police officers who joined to the experiment group with Front-Test End-Test application. The Job Stress Level Inventory and Beck Depression Inventory are applied before and after the group sessions. The obtained data evaluated with SPSS for Windows program. The Dependent T Test is used for data analysis. The results of the study are as follows: 1- The Pyschological Group Counseling is effective on reducing the depression level of Nimble Force police officers. 2- The Group Counseling is effective on reducing the job stress level of Nimble Force police officers. According to these results; it's found that Pyschological Group Counseling should be useful to reduce the work stress and depression level of police officers. And it's suggested to have Pyschological Counselors work in Security Directorates. rv
