Audio-visual translation, unlike other types of translation, is a type of translation that includes many channels. The place where audio-visual translations are most noticed by the masses is television. With the advancement of the age and the unceasing continuity of technology, people can access audio-visual translations through many channels. In this study, it was aimed to research the importance of these codes in meaning creation and to what extent they are effective in translations by considering only the visual and audio codes among the visual, auditory and language codes that are the basis of the audio-visual elements. For this reason, in this study, an audio-visual product in French, which translators do not understand, was chosen as the language and translators were selected according to this criterion. The fact that translators have all the skills required for translation and not only have language skills encouraged them to do the same work with non-translators. Thus, the effect of audio-visual products will be examined and discussed with both types of subjects. The subjects were determined as 10 translators, 4 non-translators. The audio-visual product includes five different scenes to be examined and consists of 11 minutes. For each scene, open-ended questions suitable for the research were prepared and the subjects were interviewed. As a result of the interview questions and the translations made, evaluations were made by considering the codes of Frederic Chaume in audio-visual products.
