Social responsibility of art in environment recycling and sustainability

It is seen that increasing consumption with industrialization and population growth causes environmental problems. With the invention and widespread use of plastic, which is one of the causes of environmental problems, the waste problem has evolved into a more serious dimension. This traumatic dimension, which environmental problems have reached with the use of plastic, has led to the awakening of environmental awareness, and artists have not been indifferent to the negative situation created by consumption-centered approaches for the environment and people. In this thesis, ecology, environment, industrial developments and consumption society are mentioned and the reasons for the emergence of wastes are discussed, the damage of plastic wastes to the environment is mentioned and the importance of sustainable life is mentioned. The works of artists who recycle environmentally by carrying out environmental improvement activities and the works of artists who use plastic waste in their works and transfer them to the society are emphasized, and the increasing plastic waste problem with ceramic works carried out to raise awareness is discussed.
