Abstract (EN)

The relationship between the environment and the economy is realized on the basis of production systems. Under the conditions of capitalism, the existence or absence of environmental assets that are the source of the capital accumulation process directly affects the ecosystem balance as well as the economy. If the value created by environmental assets in the economy is greater than the value created by ecologically, the principles of environmental protection are created on the basis of economic growth. In this context, the environmental politics that developed from the 1970s were also organized as part of the process of economic growth and capital accumulation. The conditions of capitalism define the scope and limits of global environmental politics, which are the source of the conflicted relationship between environmental protection and economic growth. Environmental policy, which is based on an environmental management approach in line with economic growth, excludes ecological assets with high economic value within the framework of the same understanding. In this context, because of the size of the economic value created by the environmental policy does not fall within the scope of the ecosystem and one of the main elements of the forest policy is one of the important areas of investigation. The size of the ecological importance created by forests in the ecosystem is of secondary importance against the profits obtained in market conditions. The historical development of production systems has increased the physical consumption of forests. But on the other hand, the global impact of deforestation as an ecological element is ignored. In this study, the forest politics studied in Turkey were evaluated in the context of environmental politics, which is a product of the conflicted relationship between economy and environment.
