Abstract (EN)
Depth, width and velocity are critical hydraulic components which define the form of rivers. These components show variations in relation to the flow discharge in the form of simple power functions(P=aQb). This relationship is named as hydraulic geometry and the coefficients and exponents are named as hydraulic geometry parameters. The scope of this study is to figure out at-a-station and downstream hydraulic geometry parameters of Ceyhan River. An increase in the recognition of the relationship between the channel geometry and the flow discharge in Ceyhan River is intended by acquiring values of the exponents and coefficients of the power function for the hydraulic geometry parameters. Seven flow measurement stations which are located on the main channel of Ceyhan River and its tributaries are utilised in the analysis. The downstream hydraulic geometry parameters b, f, m and a, c, kwere found to be 0.33, 0.78, 0.29 and 14.82, 0.61, 0.12 respectively. Consequences might be progressive for the forthcoming works and planning strategies of the basin.
