The effect of creative drama activities based o0n Cristine Nöstlinger's choosen books

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of creative drama activities based on Christine Nöstlinger books on the writing skill of 4th grade students and determine their opinions about these activities. The study was conducted in a private school of the Ministry of National Education in the province of Niğde in the academic year of 2018-2019. Mixed research method was used in this study. The quantitative part of the study was carried out with 48 students for 9 weeks. 24 of these students were in experimental group and 24 of them were in control group. While creative drama activities based on Christine Nöstlinger's books were applied to the experimental group, resource plans in the current curriculum were applied to the control group. The quantitative data of the study were obtained by the achievement test for the writing skills applied to the experimental and control groups and the dependent, independent t tests were applied to the quantitative data and descriptive statistics was used. Qualitative data of the study were collected through focus group interviews with experimental group students and content analysis method was used for analysis of these data. At the end of the study, it was observed that the academic achievement test scores of the experimental group were significantly higher than the control group's. In the focus group interviews, the experimental group students expressed positive opinions about the creative drama activities based on Christine Nöstlinger's books.
