Abstract (EN)
This study titled ?The Lepidoptera Fauna of Cide (Aydos) Region? was conducted to determine the Lepidoptera fauna of Aydos region between the years 2005 - 2007. The harmful species among collected species were also notified. There was no previous study to determine the Lepidoptera fauna of this region in the literature. The objectives of the faunustic studies are to identify species living in the region. At the first stage of this study, the literature related to Lepidoptera was reviewed and necessary information was collected. At the second stage, the study areas were determined and sampling of Lepidopteran was started. In the field, different collection methods were used while catching the Lepidopteran specimens. After that, the specimens were taken into laboratory and passed thorough some preparation procedures for identification. For identification, the related literatures were used. Most of the identifications were made according to the morphological characteristics of the Lepidoptera. Also the assistance of the of the experts of the subject to identfy the species is taken. The living areas in the world and in Turkey, and the feeding plantation of the larvas of the speciemens, whose identification process was completed, are determinend by the help of the related studies. iii With this study 47 species belonging to 12 family and 6 superfamily of Lepidoptera were identified in Aydos Region of Cide.Between the superfamilies, the Papilionoidea superfamily with the 26 species identified (% 56) has the biggest amounth of rate. Between the families with 8 species identified (% 17) the Geometridae and Lycaenidae families have the biggest amounth of rate.
