Abstract (EN)
In this study, the notion of bipolar metric space is defined, a theory for such spaces is developed and some fixed point theorems on bipolar metric spaces are proved. This thesis consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, a brief introduction and motivation are given to the theme. In the second chapter, some preliminary definitions and theorems, which will be used throughout the study, are given for completeness and consistency. Bipolar metric spaces, which constitute the main focus of the thesis, are defined and studied from different perspectives in the third chapter. The fourth chapter is devoted to fixed point theorems on bipolar metric spaces. In the last chapter, some comments and suggestions for future work are made.
