Abstract (EN)

Large volume products such as trucks, minibuses, buses are difficult to both assemble and disassembly. Particularly in the recovery works of large volume products, one-sided disassembly lines are inadequate and two-sided disassembly lines are utilized. In such lines, various equipment and assistants may be needed for the disassembly of large volumes of products. In the scope of this thesis, the Two Sided Disassembly Line Balancing (TSDLB) problem, which considers the assignment of tasks, equipment and assistants to the stations in order to maximize the total net recovery profit, is addressed. Within the scope of the thesis, firstly the disassembly line balancing studies in the literature are explained in detail. Then, the materials belonging to the disassembly and two-sided disassembly lines were explained and the assumptions and constraints of the TSDLB problem were defined and a 0-1 integer linear programming model was proposed. In order to determine the effect of the proposed solution approach on the total net recovery profit, two-sided disassembly lines and one-sided disassembly lines were examined. In order to analyze the performance of the proposed solution approach, a total of 324 test problems were created, 162 for two-sided disassembly lines and 162 for one-sided disassembly lines. With the proposed 0-1 integer mathematical model, optimal results were obtained in 132 (81.48%) of 162 problems in one-sided lines and 92 (56.79%) of 162 problems in two-sided lines. The balancing of the lines as one-sided disassembly line and two-sided disassembly line was compared and it was seen that balancing as two-sided disassembly line rather than one-sided disassembly line resulted in 29.18% improvement on net recovery profit.
