Abstract (EN)
In recent years, the fact that people are more interested in health-related issues and the increase in people adopting natural and minimalist life despite technological innovations has also shown its effects in the cosmetics sector. Organic certified products with herbal and natural ingredients, specially produced for this consumer group, have started to become popular in the cosmetics industry. This study aims to determine the percent inhibition values of the face mask developed with plant extract with biological activity against test bacteria in vitro conditions. In this study, antibacterial, antioxidant, and antibiofilm activities of different plants were studied on 11 bacteria isolated from commercial masks. After determining the optimum pH and temperature values of the bacteria used in the study, active cultures were used. Antibacterial activity studies were determined by the disc diffusion method. The highest activity was obtained from the aqueous extract of the Punica against Neisseria sp. İ8, and this inhibition zone is 28 mm. The lowest minimum inhibitory concentration is 1625 μg/ml. This value was determined from different plant extracts. Antioxidant activity studies were determined by the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2-azinobis- (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) (ABTS) radical scavenging methods. The highest DPPH scavenging activity was found to be %82 from the Punica methanol extract. ABTS scavenging activity was determined at different temperature values. As a result, it was determined that the antioxidant activity at five different temperature values was different. In antibiofilm studies, the highest biofilm formation inhibition was found as 18,7% against Lactobacillus sp. İ3 at Punica aqueous extract. In this study, the components of the plants with bioactivity were determined by thin-layer chromatography. These plants were Inula, Syzygium, and Punica. A total of 7 points were shown and Rf values were determined. The natural and ecological facemask was made with the highest activity plant extract. Percent inhibition rates of this mask against test bacteria were determined in vitro. In conclusion, there is a need to further study.
