Abstract (EN)
Daily increasing emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) have been causing global climate change. This thesis explored national trends in emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) from cement production. The method used for trend analysis is the Mann-Kendal method. Sources of CO2 emissions from cement sector that plays a locomotive role in economy of nations as well as present and future mitigative measures towards reducing CO2 emissions were reviewed. Impacts of such driving factors as gross national product, and population growth behind emissions of GHGs were discussed. As population density, per capita GDP (US $ 2017 / person), per capita energy use (oil equivalent kg / person) increase, CO2 emissions from cement production also increase. As the share of renewable energy consumption to total final energy consumption (%) and arable land per capita (hectare / person) increases, CO2 emissions from cement production decrease.
