Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, it is aimed to improve the negative properties of cementitious concrete such as weak flexural strength. For this purpose, polymer concrete and polyester-coated cementitious concrete samples were produced by using polyester resin, which has better mechanical properties such as compression and bending. While producing polymer concrete and cementitious concrete, samples of 4x4x16 cm dimensions were produced using 4 different aggregate mixture percentages and 7 different aggregate granulometry. In order to improve the mechanical properties of cementitious concrete, cementitious concrete samples were coated with polyester. Cemented concrete samples of 2x2x14 cm and 3x3x15 cm dimensions were produced by using polyester coated cementitious concrete samples and 7 different aggregate granulometry at 4 different aggregate mixture percentages. The production of polyester-coated cementitious concrete was completed by coating the produced cementitious concrete samples with polyester resin in 1.0 cm and 0.5 cm thicknesses. Polymer samples were left to cure at room temperature for 35 days, and cement concrete samples were left to cure in a curing pool for 35 days. Ultrasound transition velocity, bending and compression tests were applied to the produced polymer concrete, polyester coated cementitious concrete and cementitious concrete samples. The mechanical properties of polymer concrete, cementitious concrete and polyester coated cementitious concrete samples were compared. The data obtained as a result of the comparison are presented in the form of tables and graphs.
