Abstract (EN)
The concept of the uncanny has been studied by many thinkers, philosophers, psychologists and architects along with psychoanalysis. With rapid urbanization, the concept of the uncanny, which affects almost every aspect of daily life, has been associated with space. Telotte, the author of the book "Animated Space", deals with Vidler's warped space concept through cartoon films. It is seen that the effects of warped space on human life can be clearly conveyed to the audience by using techniques such as transformation (metamorphosis) and exaggeration, which are the unique elements of cartoon film. In the field of cartoon film, the examples of short film "A Country Doctor (Inaka Isha)" produced by Koji Yamamura and "The Witness" directed by Alberto Mielgo are explained by being associated with warped space. In these examples, the emotions experienced by the characters in space and the effects of the spaces on the characters are analyzed through the concept of warped space.
