Abstract (EN)
In this thesis project; the relation between the cartoons on TV, and primary school students has been examined. The aim of this project is to determine whether fifth grade primary school students are affected by the aggressive behaviours in cartoons, and thus have tendency towards aggressive attitudes. In the first part of this examination, the concept of communication, mass-media, social functions of media, theorotical approaches on violence issue and theories related to television?s directing people into violence have been analyzed. In the second part of the examination, the definition of cartoon and its historical progress, the physical, cognitive, social and emotional evolution of primary school students has been discussed, and the relationship between both television and children and violence in cartoons and children has been examined. In the third part, survey, analysis results and conclusion part is involved.Key words: Cartoons, violence, mass media, child/children, television
