Abstract (EN)

The act of drawing recognized as a natural reaction inherent in each person is realized with the impulse of thought, speech, research and discovery, and may form a part of the process or the expression of the outcome. Linear expressions assuming responsibility in many social-cultural issues may appear consciously or impulsively in various spaces and forms, from the walls of the caves to art galleries, from biological actions to artistic activities. In this study, the act of drawing which is a creative, dynamic and boundless field for the space designer is addressed in relation to the concepts of thought and design. In space designs, drawing stands out as a way of expression contributing to and uncovering the thought of design, and representing it in distinctive ways. Thinking by means of drawing is conceived primarily as an act of creating meaning, rather than a product. In this regard, it is considered important that the consciousness of the act of drawing is addressed critically in terms of tools and environments varying from paper to computer, pencils to software. Consciousness of the act of drawing formed the basis for the comparative analysis of the conventional, modern and combined-hybrid drawing methods, in line with theoretical and practical approaches. Forms of representation based on drawings of designers working variously in the space design process and their critical statements are included as comments and messages.
