Abstract (EN)

A school-aged child who takes first steps of individualization, also has a place as an individual on society as well. Child at this stage, as a person who can think, investigate and who can interpret, spends an effort to understand the others and the entire environment around him. Instead the home-oriented, the child who spends time outside with her friends became more socialize. A child has physical differences from adult; therefore the perception of the environment is different from an adult. As the child first opens to outside with school he starts to perceive the environment near the school and home, his city, world and universe. A child tries to discover the environment by bringing home as e center of establishment of his relations with the world. To understand a child perception on housing, there were made related literature studies on child, perception, spatial perception, perception on housing, verbal architecture and visual representation tools and represent tools used by children, and in the end there were given theories and opinions on these studies. Within the framework of these theories and opinions in order to understand the child's perception on housing through verbal and visual representations it was made a field study. Throughout this research were presented and evaluated children verbal and visual senses on how they perceive the housing spaces. And according to the perception of the child on housing spaces, the information was interpreted.
