Index and evaluation of translated texts in Çocuk Dünyasi magazine

Work which improves children?s aesthetical emotions and gives the taste of their mother language while nurturing their dream is investigated under child literature. First significant work in this field starts with administrative reforms called Tanzimat. In this period to fulfill the gap in our literature translations are made regarding world literature. These translations which are published as books or printed as magazines. Çocuk Dünyası (Ç.D.) magazine is the one which keeps the contact between school books and actual happenings. For this reason Ç.D. magazine is a touchstone in the constitution of child literature.Translation is a bridge that blends two different cultures through the mediation of literature. Ç.D. magazine is a magazine rich in translations. Ç.D. magazine being for longdated amongst child magazines is therefore one of the important magazines. Distinguished world literature published in this era appears in Ç.D. magazine.In this study translated texts that are issued in Ç.D. magazine between years 1913 and 1927 are indexed and evaluated accordingly. In the introduction part; language, literature, child literature and its history, the history of child magazines, translation and information about Ç.D. magazine is quoted. On the first and second chapters indexes of writers and names of texts are allocated. On the third chapter texts from Ç.D. magazine are selected. On the fourth chapter statistical evaluation of translated texts, context evaluation of translated text, localization in the translated texts, messages of translated text, evaluations of some characteristic expressions and evaluation of pictures is performed.
