The relationship between mother-father attitude and connection status in the child and adolescents with the perception of self-esteem and child narcissism

Abstract (EN)

The aim at this study was to investigate the relationship between parental attitudes and attachment status of children and adolescent. Between the ages of 10 and 17 years and self-esteem and childhood narcissism. In addition, the relationship between the study variables and socio-demographic variables selected by the researcher and according to the functional competence data were examined. The sample at the study has conducted for these purposes is 222 students between, 10-17 years old who are in a private school in İzmir. '' Parent Attitude Scale, Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale, Relationship Scales'' were applied to students. '' Functional Competency Assesment Form'' was applied. As a result of the analysis, it was detected that safe attachment to parents increased self-esteem in children and adolescents while fearful and obsessive attachment to parents decreased self-esteem. However, the self-esteem scares of the children and adolescents who were securely attached were higher than those of the children and adolescents who were insecure. When the relationship between mother attitude and attachment style, but there was no significant relationship between father attitude and attachment style. When we examine the relationship between childhood narcissism and self-esteem it was found that narcissism reduced self-esteem. When the relationship between parental attitude and narcissism was examined, no significant relationship was found. When the relationship between attachment styles and narcissism is examined a significant relationship has not been found. Self-esteem score levels of children and adolescents who penciesed mother's attitude and father's attitude were found to be higher than those who pencieved mother's attitude and father's attitude as authoritorion. When the results of our study are examined, we see that parents have an undesirable effect on children nad adolescents. The suggests that both the attachment and childhood narcissism level may have a shopping effect on the attitudes and behaviors of parents. When the related researches are examined in the literatüre, it is sean that the parents have underiable effects as in our research results.
