Leisure time assessment in children and changing games from traditional to modern: Example of Çankırı

The concept of child is a concept that all societies value. Communities transmit their culture and values to future generations through children. This study aims to investigate the concept of child valued by the whole society with sociological methods and to investigate the effects of the concept of play, which is an indispensable part of children, on children. How children evaluate leisure time and the effects of games on children were investigated. In this study, interviews were made with 36 children between the ages of 9 and 15 with the semi-structured interview technique. However, a questionnaire was applied to 217 parents. As a result of the research, it has been analyzed that there is an intense interest in violent games at the basis of the increasing tendency of children towards violence.
