Abstract (EN)
Object: The aim of this study was retrospective analyses of patients with corrosive ingestion at the route of literatures.Method: From 2000 to 2012 patients with corrosive ingestion were classified. Age, sex, complaints, corrosive substrat, lesion localization, diagnostic and treatment methods, morbidity, mortality were the determining factors of this study. Results: 270 patients (156 male, 114 female) with corrosive ingestion were analysed retrospectively. Time to hospital applying after corrosive ingestion was 2 hours at 57 % of patients. Rate of corrosive ingestion at 0-3 age %40,7 and %32,2 at 3-6 age group. The most frequent factor was lime solvents (28,9%), hidrochloric acid (25,6%) and oil solvents (19,2%) were following it. Clinical features of patients were buccal, oral, oropharingeal oedema (%66,6), kusma (%24,8) and disfagia (%20,3). 87 patients were done endoscopy.Endoscopy revealed grade 1 burn at %34,5 of patients and grade 2a2a burn at %39,2 patients. At the acute phase oral intake was stopped, antibiotherapy and steroid treatment was performed. Oesophageal stricture was established at 56 patients and gastric outlet obstuction was established at 15 patients. Conclusion: Oesophageal and gastric burn with corrosive substrats is an importan health problem of 0-6 age group of children. Oesophageal burns cause high morbidity and mortality. Etiologic agents and other factors of oesophageal and gastric burns should be controlled strictly by producers and public. Keywords: Corrosive ingestion, oesophageal stricture, gastric outlet obstruction.
