Abstract (EN)
The study was conducted in a randomized controlled manner to examine the effect of a video-based education program on image quality and the anxiety on children-parents during magnetic resonance imaging. There search was performed with 66 children between the ages of 4-15 at the Division of magnetic resonance imaging, Department of Radiology, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Training and Research Hospital between January-December 2019. A video-based education program was applied to the intervention group before MRI. In data collection; Parent-Child Introductory Information Form, Researcher Observation Form, Radiology Technician Observation Form, Spielberg State Anxiety Scale, Short Version of the Modified Yale Preoperative Anxiety Scale in Young Children, Children's Fear Scale, Children's State Anxiety. The data were evaluated through the SPSS 19.0 package program. According to the results obtained from the scales applied to children, for the children in the intervention group, the mean scores of the fear and anxiety scale after the procedure were foundto be statistically significantly lower than the control group (p = 0.001; p <0.01). Similarly, a statistically significant difference was found between the state anxiety scores of the parents in the intervention group and the control group (p = 0.001; p <0.01). Shooting quality degree of the intervention group was higher than the control group (p = 0.001; p <0.01). While the mean score of magnetic resonance imaging quality in the intervention group was 4.18 ± 0.81, it was found to be 3.24 ± 1.20 in the control group.
