Investigation of the metabolomic profile in childhood obesity

Abstract (EN)

In our study, it was aimed to determine serum obestatin, humanin, kisspeptin, spexin and asprosin levels, which are metabolomic profile parameters in childhood obesity. Children who applied to Gaziantep University Department of Pediatrics, Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism Polyclinic with obesity or any other complaint, who were found to be obese in the examinations and physical examinations, or whose body mass index was under the obesity criteria were included in the study. Obestatin, Humanin, Kisspeptin, Spexin and Asprosin measurements were performed with a commercially available quantitative Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit according to the manufacturer's instructions. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained from our study, it was determined that there was a significant difference in the levels of obestatin, humanin, kisspeptin, spexin and asprosin in children according to the weight level of the children. As a result of the study, it was observed that the levels of obestatin and spexin were significantly higher in those with normal weight compared to those with overweight, obese and morbid, the level of obestatin was significantly higher in those who were overweight compared to those who were obese and morbid, and those who were obese were significantly higher than those with morbidity. It was observed that humanin level was significantly higher in morbid patients compared to normal weight, overweight and obese, humanin level was significantly higher in obese patients than in overweight and normal weight groups, and in overweight patients compared to normal weight individuals. It was observed that kisspeptin level was significantly higher in patients with morbidity compared to those who were normal, obese and overweight, and kisspeptin level was significantly higher in those who were overweight compared to those who were normal and overweight. It was observed that spexin level was significantly higher in those with normal weight compared to those with overweight, obese and morbid, and it was significantly higher in those with overweight compared to those with morbidity. It was observed that asprosin level was significantly lower in those with normal weight compared to those who were overweight, obese, and morbid, and the level of asprosin in that overweight was significantly lower than in those with obese and morbid, and, those obese compared with those with morbidity (p<0.001).
