Analysing the relationship between personality traits and psychopathological condition of childhood traumas

In this research we investigate the presence of a childhood traumas between personality traits and psychopathology state. Participants of our research group were hundred fifty adults located in İstanbul and they were selected randomly. We used Childhood Trauma Questionnaire developed by Bernstein in 1994 which was translated in to Turkish by Prof.Dr. Vedat Şar, Psk.Dr. Erdinç Öztürk, Childhood Trauma Questionnaire translated to Turkish by Eda İkikardeş, study of Symptom Check List SCL-90 developed by Leonard R. Derogatis and translated into Turkish by Psk İhsan Dağ and with purpose of exploring personality characteristic we use Fundamental of Personality Characteristic Questionnaire study of Tülin Gençöz and Öznur Öncül in 2012. We benefit from scannig model to reach the most accurate data and findings were analysed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) Chicago IL, Version 17. Our instrument to compare three or more groups and data analysis was Tukey HSD test. For absolute result multiple comparison Kruskal Wallis and multiple comparison test of Bonferroni-Dunn. Repetitive relation between two variational's is tested by Pearson correlation coefficient and Spearman correlation coefficients if there was any lack of complete result. For categorized data analysis Chi Square and Fisher Exact was tooled. To sum up all the results of this research, connection between level of childhood trauma personality traits such as Extraversion, Conscientiousness, Agreeableness, Openness to experience and negative, effect of Neuroticism and Negative valence has a positive influence in low aspect. A positive relation has been found between childhood trauma and psychopathology
