Abstract (EN)

The economic, social, cultural and psychological consequences of disasters occurring both in Turkey and all around the world in recent years are among the important issues to be examined. This can be accomplished by coordinated, well-planned and efficient management of disaster management. Because of the intensity of a disaster and the various geologic characteristics of the occurrence area, disasters are also showing differences. Therefore, disaster logistics has to be planned specifically for disaster formation processes and disaster types. Various methodologies and approaches should be developed in a sustainable manner. By revising the current disaster plans through GIS supported modeling, keeping them active and up-to-date in the regions where disaster risk is present, will enable the coordination and logistics activities to be realized after the disaster faster. Disaster logistics processes consist of three main stages: preparation, response and recovery. These stages have essential role as well as in delivering basic supports at the right time, at right place, at the right amount, in the right conditions with the right cost, also known as indispensable for logistics, to people in need and stocking products such as food, clothing, shelter, water, blanket, medical equipment etc. With GIS, appropriate storage, transportation routes, distribution activities, existing building stock and population are determined and the planning activities of the region are emphasized. Considering the situation of the country in terms of types of disasters, the earthquake ranks first. In this context, the city of Adapazarı is a very active location for ground shaking. In this study, a study was carried out with the support of Geographical Information Systems in order to make the logistic works in a fast, planned and correct way after an earthquake in the region.
