Evaluation of high rise office buildings in terms of formalization features

m ABSTRACT The working people spend most of their day time in the office buildings that respond most of their daily activities. Office building design needs care because they have an important role in people' s life. High-rise office buildings that use todays technology and with its flexible spaces is outstanding. The evolution of high-rise buildings are evaluated in this study. This study contains six chapters. The first chapter isthe introduction section. Introduction and general information on subject are provided in chapter I. Along with the reasons of selecting this subject. General information of office activity and concept are stated in chapter n. The points require attention, various standarts and diffrent approaches are provided here. In the third chapter genesis, identity and evolution of high-rise office buildings are discussed. The evolution of high-rise buildings are taken in four periods like evolution of high-rise buildings. First period (up to 1885), second period (1885- 1930), third period (1930-1960) and the fourtf period (1960-1980). In the fourth chapter typical high office building' s samples are evaluated. The world wide known buildings are chosen according to their distinctive features. In the fifth chapter, the changes of the office activities are determined and the suggestions for the design of high office buildings are offered. The conclusion from each chapter are stated in chapter VI.
