Özet (EN)

The earthquake resistance of existing or newly designed constructions is of great importance in terms of loss of life and property. This is only possible with designs and evaluations to be carried out by expert engineers on current earthquake regulations. The methods to be used in evaluating the existing structures in Turkish seismic code 2007 are defined as linear and nonlinear methods. The nonlinear methods are expressed as incremental pushover analysis and nonlinear time history analysis methods in that code. Pushover analysis methods are also defined as incremental equivalent seismic load method (single mode) and incremental mode combining method (multi mode). In this thesis, incremental equivalent seismic load method and nonlinear time history analysis, which are nonlinear analysis methods, were used. In this study, firstly, a single-mode pushover analysis of reinforced concrete 8-story structure was performed using SAP2000 and ProtaStructure programs. The results obtained from both programs are compared with each other. Then, the same structure was analyzed with the SAP2000 program using nonlinear time history analysis. The results obtained by this method were compared with the results of the incremental pushover analysis method, and the consistency between the results of two methods was evaluated. In the analysis carried out using nonlinear time history analysis; three records belonging to real earthquakes scaled to be compatible with the design acceleration spectrum were used.
