Abstract (EN)

İn dynamic response analysis of multi degree of freedom structural systems, analytical solution of the equations of motion for these systems is not possible if the excitation varies arbitrarily with time or if the system is nonlinear. Such cases requires numerical solution of equations of motion in the time domain.İn this study, two different approaches were examined for the numerical solution of the equations of motion of the multi degree of freedom systems in the time domain: direct integration methods and mode superposition method. Each approach has advantages and disadvantages that depend on the type of system and loading. The aim of this study is investigation of the dynamic behavior of the multi degree of freedom structural systems in the time domain. For this purpose, computer program for the dynamic time history analysis of the frame systems subjected to strong ground motions was developed and the results were discussed. Keywords: Multi degree of freedom systems, dynamic time history analysis, direct integration methods, mode superposition method.
