Özet (EN)
The aim of this study is to indicate multiculturalism theory basis and the relationship between multiculturalism and the nation-state. The nation-state becomes the most widespread political organization in the world. On the contrary of the ideal form of nation-state, almost whole countries are culturally diverse. This diversity in the nation-states gives rise to a series of important questions. Minority cultures and the sovereign culture increasingly clash over such issues as regional autonomy, language rights, political representation, education curriculum, and immigration and naturalization policy. Finding morally defensible and politically viable answers to these issues is the greatest challenge facing modern nation-states today. Multiculturalism outlines a new approach to these problems. This thesis consist of two chapters: In the first chapter, the concept of culture is clarified first section and multicultural society is examined in the second section. Second chapter consists of three sections. In the first section, multiculturalism politics and its critiques are explored. In the second section constitutional state and constitutional citizenship are discussed. The third, the last chapter, constitutional problems of multicultural nation-state is examined.
