Comparison between two soundartists Seth Kim Cohen and Salome Voegelin about the aim of the sounds used in soundart works

In my research I would like to focus on two points of view about the value of the sounds used in the works of soundart. But first of all I aimed to present the general development of Sound Art from the first steps to the last works of Soundart today. As to the first point of view, which is supported by the writer and artist Salome Voegelin, soundart requires a mode of listening whose aim is directed to sounds themselves and not the language, context, history, genre, category and such. On the other hand for the artist, musician and critic Seth Kim Cohen, sound art is a practice that inhabits the "extramusical" that investigates relationships, institutions, context, sociality, and history; it eschews sounds-in-themselves as a rejection of the metaphysics of presence. Followingly I am going to discuss these points of view in detail taking into account the conceptual and the perceptual features of soundart.
