Abstract (EN)
Technology; focuses on development of systems which minimize Carbon release with the aim of reducing Global Warming effects. The hybrid vehicles researches are growing to reduce the dependence of the fuel sources and to minimize the Carbon release. In this project on extensive literature survey on Hybrid vehicles is performed, vehicle topologies and control strategies are emphasized. In the second part of this project, the series hybrid vehicle is modeled and the affect of ultracapacitor to the performance parameter of vehicle with various driving cycles are observed in detail. In this project, DC-Bus and its components of series hybrid vehicle (Batteries and Ultra Capacitors) are modeled. Efficiency increase of the system is proposed by controlling power transfer on the DC-Bus. Thus the fuel consumption efficiency is increased by controlling the Engine start-up. Furthermore efficient storage and usage of electric energy from additional sources and generators is performed.Series Hybrid Vehicle performance is simulated in Matlab/Simulink for different cases. Simulation results are compared in order to evaluate performance of the system.
