Özet (EN)
Metallic cylindrical materials are undertaken to different heat treatment processes in industry. Especially, cooling of materials is of great importance. In many applications water is used to cool high temperature surfaces, especially in iron and steel industry. Quenching is one of the important processes of heat treatment to improve the performance of steel. In this work, temperature profiles in metallic cylindrical materials under quenching boundary conditions are investigated theoretically using numerical methods to simulate the heat transfer process in iron and steel production. The different form of heat transfer regions (forced convection, nucleate boiling, and film boiling regions), for quenching phenomena by using a cylindrical bar are studied. The results from the numerical calculations are presented in the form of graphs for chosen steels.
