Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to determine the optimum usage amounts in quail rations, as well as to examine the effects of adding different levels of black cumin seeds to broiler feeds on fattening performance and carcass parameters. A total of 1000 chicks of mixed sex, 1 day old, 4 groups, 5 replications in each group and 50 chicks in each replication were used in the experiment. The trial lasted for 5 weeks. The research was carried out on the control group, whose rations were not supplemented with black cumin seeds, and on the experimental groups, which added black cumin seeds at the rates of 5, 10 and 15%, respectively (ÇOT1, ÇOT2 and ÇOT3). At the end of the experiment, it was determined that the body weight average of the control group was significantly higher than the ÇOT1, ÇOT2 and ÇOT3 groups (P<0.01). ÇOT3 group had the lowest body weight average. Considering the trial in general, FC (feed consumption) and FCR (feed conversion ratio) between the groups were found to be higher than the control group (P<0.01) in ÇOT2 and ÇOT3 groups. There was no statistical difference between the groups in terms of liver weight. In terms of hot carcass weight, cold carcass weight and carcass yield, the Control group was found to be significantly higher than the ÇOT3 group (P<0.01). The stony weight was higher in the ÇOT3 group (P<0.01). In terms of carcass parameters, the Control group was significantly higher than the ÇOT3 group (P<0.01). No significant difference was found between the viability of the groups. As a result; Addition of more than 5% black cumin seeds to broiler quail rations reduces live weight gain and is not economical.
