Çorlulu Zarîfî and Mihr ü Mâh masnavi (Introdiction-analysis-text-index-reprint)

As an ancient language, Turkish spread over a wide geography in its historical development stages and different alphabets were used at different times during this process for the writing of the Turkish language. The Arabic alphabet, which started to be used especially with the acceptance of Islam, has been the alphabet that the Turkish language produced the most works and used for the longest time. A lot of manuscripts created with this alphabet have been found in the country and abroad, recorded and examined, and have been instrumental in a better understanding of the language and literature of the period. The analysis of Çorlulu Zarîfî's Mihr ü Mâh masnavi, which we worked on as a doctoral thesis, was also formed in the context of this idea. Mihr ü Mâh masnavi written by Çorlulu Zarîfî, who is considered as a 16th century poet, consists of five copies in total. Three of these copies are located abroad (German National Library Copy, Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana/Vatican Copy, Netherlands/Leiden University Library Copy) and two are located domestically (Atatürk University Seyfettin Özege Library Copy, Istanbul University Library Copy). Based on these five copies, the work was examined with the critical text technique and mainly the language of the text was studied. This study consists of introduction, examination, critical text, grammedical index and conclusion sections. This masnavi of Zarîfî, in which a classical love theme is processed, consists of 1217 couplets in total. This thesis, in which a solid text is created by comparing the five copies, will contribute to both the determination of the language characteristics of the period and the Turkish language.
