Abstract (EN)

This study aims to both identify and classify the errors and the causes of errors of translation committed by ELT students in Turkish context. The errors were identified and classified by means of corpus. The Corpus Based Approach helped the research into the lexical, syntactic, semantic, and stylistic patterns of a language. A corpus based approach was used in order to identify and classify the errors committed as well as determining the frequency of errors. The reason why a corpus based approach used in the study was that the majority of the studies have been based on this approach recently. 234 second year students, who took English – Turkish translation course, participated in the study. In order to gather data, students' translations were investigated through AntConc (2016). The analysis of errors was based on "Corder's taxonomy". Key Words: Corpus based approach, translation, error analysis, Corder's taxonomy (1967)
