The effect of public spot advertising on individuals' behaviour in the covid-19 period: The case of Erzincan city

Today, with the spread of technology in all areas of life, the channels that people can be reached have started to show a lot of diversity. Advertisements are frequently used in all these channels to market products or ideas to people. On the other hand, Public Service Advertisements are frequently used in order to guide the society correctly, especially in times of crisis. With this study, it is aimed to determine the effect of Public Service Advertisements on the behavior of the society. The population of the research consists of individuals over the age of 18 residing in Erzincan City Center. After eliminating the incomplete and incorrect answers of the questionnaires, 461 questionnaire forms were evaluated and analyzes were made with the data obtained from here. Although there are different studies on Public Service Advertisements in the literature, there is no study examining the effect of Public Service Advertisements on people's behavior regarding the Covid-19 outbreak. Our study is important in terms of examining this issue and contributing to further studies by guiding it. As a result of the analyzes made through the International Business Machines (IBM) Statistics 25 program, it has been concluded that the attitudes and behaviors of people towards Public Service Advertisements are generally positive, and the level of participation in the statements about informational features is generally high. However, it was determined that the behaviors of the participants regarding mask, distance and cleaning did not change at a high level.
