Özet (EN)

Covid-19 –first appeared in China in 2019 and then spread to all countries of the world- has become a global health crisis. It has caused changes in people's behaviors, habits and lifestyles, and still continues. Family is also affected by these changes. This thesis aims to investigate how the Covid-19 pandemic era affected the family. The field study is based on in-depth interviews with sixteen housewives between the ages of 23 and 54 living in Tarlabaşı district of İstanbul. Tarlabaşı can be defined as a district where the socioeconomic level is low and the rural-urban migrants live. In this study, it is tried to understand to what extent the pandemic affected the "education", "violence" and "daily life experiences" of the women interviewed. For this reason, learning about the personal experiences of women in these three areas in the culture they come from has been regarded as significant in terms of making comparisons with today. Research findings has shown that despite the understanding of its importance, the education has come to a standstill due to the economic reasons; the frequency of domestic violence has increased and women have started to take more responsibility in their daily lives with Covid-19 pandemic.
