Covid-19 pandemisi sonrasında ingilizce öğretmenlerinin yüz yüze dil öğretimi ve acil uzaktan dil öğretimi hakkındaki algıları üzerine karşılaştırmalı bir çalışma

The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the process of teaching and learning all around the world. Along with the rapid changes in the educational contexts, English teaching and learning methods have changed to a great extent as well. Similarly, teachers' motivation, thoughts, ideas, emotions and perceptions have been affected by these changes. After the transition from face-to-face education to online education at the first stage, all the stakeholders of the education tried to comply with the necessities of the distance education system. By investigating the perceptions of English language teachers about emergency remote English teaching, this study aims to find out the perceptions of teachers after turning back to face-to-face language teaching in terms of different aspects and domains following Covid-19 pandemic in Turkey. In this quantitative and descriptive study, data were obtained from 138 English teachers, working at different levels of public schools, by conducting an online questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed through IBM SPSS 24.0 software package. Normality test, t-test and one-way ANOVA test were applied to the questionnaire to get results. The insights and findings gained from the study can be used in further studies to enable a better virtual education in the future and to explore and propose solutions to the possible problems resulting from the practises in emergency remote language teaching.
