Abstract (EN)
Fifty HD patients with stable general condition, aged 18-65, who were diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Failure (CRF) and received hemodialysis (HD) treatment at Bursa Uludağ University Nephrology Department Hemodialysis Unit, voluntarily participated in our study. Resilience Scale for Adults (YPDÖ), Hospital Anxiety – Depression Scale (HADS), Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale-Short Form (BTS-12), Stress Coping Styles Scale (SBTÖ) were administered to the participants, Data Form filled by Dialysis Patients, Dialysis Patients Data Form for Medical Information Filled by the Physician, COVID-19 Evaluation Form, Sociodemographic Data Form were filled. In our study, we found that men have a higher tolerance for coping with stress than women, the threshold of intolerance to uncertainty decreases as the number of HD-related side effects and daily social media use increases, working individuals have higher psychological resilience, anxiety and depression scores are lower than non-working individuals, and the pandemic process It has been concluded that they see it as less risky. It should be kept in mind that HD patients have a higher risk of mental illnesses than individuals in the normal population. The pandemic process should be considered as a serious stressor for these individuals who are already sensitive to mental pathologies. HD patients should be encouraged to work under appropriate conditions within their means. Working in a job should not only be seen as a source of financial income for HD patients. It is thought that if we do not stick to a single point of view on the issues that affect the life course of the patients, it will have positive results for both parties.
