Management's views on school management processes in the covid-19 pandemic

In this study, the subject of administrators' views on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on school management and processes was examined. During the Covid-19 pandemic period, many changes have occurred in the field of education, as in all fields. Due to the protection from the Covid-19 pandemic, physical education was suspended and distance education activities started to be used. With distance education applications, some problems have occurred in school management and processes. The education process has been disrupted due to reasons such as internet infrastructure problems, lack of sufficient knowledge about the use of distance education applications, insufficient efficiency from distance education applications, and education inequality. In this research, a 10-question interview form was applied to 15 participant school administrators working in primary and secondary schools in Antalya province Manavgat district in order to examine the factors affecting school management and processes in the Covid-19 pandemic year. The results obtained from the interview form application were analyzed using qualitative data analysis technique. When the results of the study are examined; It has been determined that school administrators experience problems such as information sharing, EBA use, lack of information about distance education applications, internet infrastructure problems, education inequality, digital addiction, and these problems negatively affect school management and processes. It has been observed that it has positive effects in terms of changing decision-making mechanisms, learning the use of new technological devices and trying new alternative education techniques during the Covid-19 pandemic process. The general provision of psychosocial support in educational institutions has been effective in increasing student and teacher motivation. It is expected that this research will guide similar studies with the subject of evaluations about school management and processes in the Covid-19 period.
